I made this cake for my nephew's birthday since I have been obsessed with tinting lately and figured a cake laden with sprinkles was sure to be a hit.

I used my basic vanilla-bean white cake recipe and tinted six layers the various colors of the rainbow (bottom - up) red, orange, yellow, green, blue and violet.

I am somewhat obsessed with the taste of buffalo wings.   I serve this with home-made Doritos Buffalo Wing/Ranch chips and celery.  I use the canned chicken as it adds a nice, salty element and the chicken is tender which is what this dip needs.  You can mix this together a day or two before and then bake in a 9" round cake pan or oven-proof dish of your choosing.

Why not take the proverbial SWEET potato and make it savory?  By mixing mashed sweet potatoes with herbed goat cheese and fresh sage, then throwing it back in the oven to mix and mingle creates an amazing Autumn or Winter side dish.  Sweet potatoes can be cooked and mashed ahead of time, just bring out roughly a half hour before mixing to take the chill off.

I love to take a classic and put a twist on it, here I took my traditional artichoke dip recipe and added a can of water chestnuts and mild green chiles to it - giving it cruch and a kick!  Super simple, but I do use my mini Cuisinart to chop up the artichokes and water chestnuts so the dip has good consistency.

I was introduced to this country classic years ago and it is an all-time comfort food.  Spooned warm from the pan into bowls with milk or cream poured over it - so delicious.  Did I mention it's easy too?!  It is essential to use quick-cooking oats as the old-fashioned variety will not work.

The flavors of Autumn were the inspiration for this sangria, rich with intense flavors and color.  It is so simple to make, there is no need to do it ahead of time.  I use Simply Apple in this recipe due to it's rustic and unprocessed nature - you can also use a country cider as well.  There is no ice in this recipe as it is meant to be enjoyed at room temperature.

The color of the autumn leaves and the fact that I have been obsessed with candy corn were my inspirations for this salsa - this labor of this recipe is made light by using my Chop &amp; Measure.  It is all about assembly and letting it rest in the refrigerator to marry the flavors.  I used the yellow and white corn variety for this, but you can easily just use yellow.

Walking through the forest I happened upon an eerie skeleton, encrusted in glitter. Spooky as it was, it's bones shimmered like diamonds as they caught the reflection of the sun. 




This craft project is sure to bring that wow factor this Halloween. I used polystyrene skeleton bones set and covered them with various shades of glitter from Art Glitter.
