1 cup water
½ tsp. saffron threads
8 cups fresh orange juice (18 oranges), or ½ gallon Simply Orange
Bring water and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and add saffron. Allow to cool. Combine orange juice and saffron syrup (strain, if desired). Pour over ice and serve.

ReplyDeleteI worked the close at WS after your class, and I must say, THOSE DRINKS WERE DELICIOUS! The saffron orangeade and ginger beer were the best, though I also enjoyed the strawberry concoction. I will admit, that I did take the saffron syrup home in hopes to make the drinks out of it...I haven't done anything with it yet, and am hoping it keeps. I also have the ginger beer, but am not sure how that is surviving.
Once again, they were delicious! I'm sorry I was not there to be your helper for the class!
