Saffron Orangeade

1 cup sugar
1 cup water
½ tsp. saffron threads
8 cups fresh orange juice (18 oranges), or ½ gallon Simply Orange

Bring water and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Remove from heat and add saffron. Allow to cool. Combine orange juice and saffron syrup (strain, if desired). Pour over ice and serve.

    I worked the close at WS after your class, and I must say, THOSE DRINKS WERE DELICIOUS! The saffron orangeade and ginger beer were the best, though I also enjoyed the strawberry concoction. I will admit, that I did take the saffron syrup home in hopes to make the drinks out of it...I haven't done anything with it yet, and am hoping it keeps. I also have the ginger beer, but am not sure how that is surviving.

    Once again, they were delicious! I'm sorry I was not there to be your helper for the class!
